A worktop range that provides all the desirable aesthetics of natural stone with none of the hassle that porous stones bring, yet with all the day-in-day-out benefits, flexibility and cost effectiveness of our enhanced acrylic solid surfaces.

MISTRAL is an accessible solid surface proud of its many benefits, primarily the discreet joints which will look near seamless to the unknowing. It is made from an enhanced acrylic resin combined with a natural mineral filler, which actually makes it slightly harder than other solid surface brands. It cannot be thermoformed like other solid surfaces as a result, but it saves time during fitting in comparison as it does not require a substrate to support it as the worksurfaces are created as a 25mm solid material. If you're not looking to thermoform, then there's nothing but positives to this.

Nonetheless, it still allows for many smooth and striking designs to be made, and with its nature as a hygienic solid surface in mind, it's something you could truly use in any room with utility in mind. Below are some features and benefits:

Near Seamless

As mentioned previously, the majority of joints between MISTRAL worktops are inconspicuous in such a way that it appears as one continuous surface that flows through the room, as if moulded from a single piece. As you can imagine, it's something a regular laminate worktop can't compete with. This however is dependant on which collection your chosen design comes from:

Two Different Ranges

MISTRAL has been split into two coexisting ranges due to popular customer demand, the more plain and chip-type designs fall under standard MISTRAL Original colours, while the Unique Collection is where all the marble-inspired designs reside.

Standard MISTRAL colours are capable of inconspicuous joints both physically to the touch and visibly, whereas the marble colour joints of the Unique Collection are more apparent and spotted under a watchful eye, so be aware when making your choice.

Almost Limitless Design

Solid surfaces like MISTRAL can effortlessly fit a design's specifications despite the lack of thermoforming availability, still allowing for unique shapes, curves and ideas. MISTRAL’s options are vast as a result, so if you have any unique features in mind let us help bring your ideas to life.

Please refer to the sizing guides & sample brochures for MISTRAL's collections below for reference on what we'll be working with. We recommend you visit our showroom to really get an idea of how the product looks in person, we can then provide samples. Note that the Unique Collection features slightly larger sizes:

Hygienic

The non-porous nature of solid surfaces make them inherently hygienic and resistant to bacteria and staining without needing to be sealed, and MISTRAL is no different. Stains and spills can always be wiped clean with a cloth and soapy water, and the surface can be cleaned with a mild bleach solution to re-hydrate and remove any dried marks left on the surface. This makes KARONIA solid surface worktops such as MISTRAL ideal for a variety of uses - kitchens, bathrooms, laboratories, chemists, any commercial environment that requires it.

Durability

MISTRAL is a strong and durable material that will deal with the rigours of daily chores and a busy kitchen lifestyle. If pots and pans fall from the cupboards above then damage is doubtful, and it performs well with decent levels of chemical and heat resistance too - but of course, you should always follow the usual surface safety guidelines of any kitchen:

  • Although MISTRAL is hygienic and approved for direct contact with food, you should always use a chopping board and never cut things directly on its surface.
  • Don't leave hot pans directly on the surface! Always use a protective products like heat pads or rubber-footed trivets.
  • Avoid exposing your worktop to strong chemicals whenever possible, namely products containing acetone like specific cleaners and paint removers.

Replenishable

Unlike a lot of other worktop materials, the surface of MISTRAL can be sanded. This means it can be refinished at any time during its life. Scratches? Slight indentations? Any general wear and tear marks that may have accumulated can be sanded off, leaving it looking as good as new without the need of replacements. Care & Maintenance Kits are available direct upon contact if required. Note that darker colours will show scratches easier than lighter colours, requiring more care.

Warranty

In the rare case that your work surface is damaged to a noticeable degree and you can't fix it yourself, MISTRAL is backed up by a field-tested 10 Year manufacturer’s warranty. MISTRAL has been installed, tested and proven in a variety of tough commercial applications before being utilised in the residential sector. Even material from the offcuts of your sink or hob cut-outs can be kept and re-used and fused into the damaged area to make your worktop look good as new again.
